Who is Jens Matthias Pram Kaurin?
Jens Matthias Pram Kaurin was a Norwegian professor of theology, Bible translator and Lutheran Bishop. He was born in Laurdal, Telemark. He lectured at the University of Christiania from 1837, and was appointed professor from 1843. Among his works were significant contribution to a new and controversial edition of Pontoppidans forklaring, and participation in a new translation of the Old Testament into Norwegian language. He served as Bishop in Bergen from 1858.
