Who was Jesse Ray Ward?
Jesse Ray "J. Ray" Ward was a United States Marshal in the closing years of the Old West period. He was appointed U.S. Marshall by President Harding. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church who lived in southern Utah and was involved in the Posey War of 1923.
