James "Jim" Davies was a Welsh rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s, '10s and '20s, and rugby league coach of the 1920s, playing club level rugby union for Swansea RFC, and playing representative level rugby league for Great Britain, Wales, and Yorkshire, and at club level for Huddersfield, as a Stand-off/Five-eighth, or Scrum-half/Halfback, i.e. number 6, or 7, and coaching at club level for Keighley.
