Who was Joe Mooney?
Joseph Mary Mooney, known as Joe Mooney, was a Fianna Fáil politician from County Leitrim in Ireland who served as a senator for 4 years.
A member of Leitrim County Council from 1943 to 1988, he was nominated in 1961 to the 10th Seanad Éireann, but did not contest the 1965 election to the 11th Seanad.
His son Paschal is currently a senator.
