Who is Joey Luthman?
Joey Luthman, age 12, is from Dayton, Ohio. He has 6 brothers and sisters, who are also musicians and thespians. He has been performing since age 4.
He started at The Dayton Playhouse (where Rob Lowe also began) and La Comedia Dinner Theatre, working with Directors and Actors from New York.
He was discovered @ a National Talent Competition in Orlando, FLA. In Dec. 2006.
At that time his resume included more than 20 Theatrical Productions, several Television appearances and several regional commercials.
He came to LA in January of 2006 for a brief visit and decided to stay. He began filming UCLA and Chapman Graduate Thesis Films. His family decided to relocate to LA in January of 2007. He has won scholarships for Diane Christiansen and Howard Fine/ Deborah Gibson’s Camp Electric Youth.
He currently has a recurring role as “Dave” on “iCarly” Season 2 and was recurring as “Rad Ferris” in “Weeds” Season 4 on Showtime, a recurring role as “Doc” on the new HBO Series “1 %” and recurring roles on ABC’s “Private Practice”, CBS’s “Eleventh Hour”, and ABC’s “October Road”.
His most recent Feature Films include: ”An American Carol” directed by David Zucker, with Kevin Farley and Kelsey Grammer. “Forget Me Not” where he plays the younger Cody Linley, from Hannah Montana, “Kissing Strangers” with Andy Dick and Seymour Castle and “The Father” is scheduled to be released on DVD this winter.
His list of credits include over 25 Independent films since arriving in LA in 2006. He currently has a film screening at the 2008 AFI Film Festival. Many of his short films have won awards and have been screened throughout the nation.
Joey is known as a quadruple threat singer, dancer, actor and musician, as he demonstrated on CBS, ”Tyra Banks Show” in 2007, and with his Stand Up Comedy Shows at the LA Hollywood Improv. He won the 2009 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Series as a Guest Star (Private Practice). He was also nominated for Best in TV as a Recurring Role (Weeds Season 4) and nominated for Best Young Actor in a Short film (Stars and Suns).
He received the 2008 “Best Child Actor” Award from the OMNI Music and Acting Awards with Louis Gossett Jr. @ theSkirball Center in LA, CA on May 11, 2008.
