John Brailsford the elder, was an English poet. He was the son of John Brailsford, a pewterer. He was educated at Merchant Taylors' School and St. John's College, Cambridge, and, after acting as curate at Blaston in Leicestershire, became rector of Kirkby in Nottinghamshire. He wrote Derby Silk-Mill, attempted in Miltonick Verse, Nottingham, 1739, fol.
