Who is John Clarke?
John Clarke or John Ronald Clarke is a Canadian political activist and the founder and leading figure of the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty.
Born in 1954 and Originally from London, England, Clarke moved to London, Ontario in the 1980s where he was a factory worker. Upon becoming unemployed he founded the Unemployed Workers Union which ultimately led to the creation of OCAP in 1989.
Since the 1990s Clarke has lived in various locations in Toronto with his partner and son.
