Who is John Dryzek?
John S. Dryzek is Professor of Social Theory and Political Theory in University of Canberra's Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis.
He was born in Maids Moreton, England. He is well known for his contributions to democratic theory and environmental politics; making notable contributions on deliberative democracy, green, and environmental discourses.
He was previously the Professor of Social Theory and Political Theory in Australian National University's Political Science Program in the Research School of Social Sciences, and former Head of the Departments of Political Science at the Universities of Oregon and Melbourne and the Social and Political Theory program at ANU. He has been a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia since 1997, and is a former editor of the Australian Journal of Political Science. In 2008 Dryzek was awarded a prestigious Federation Fellowship from the Australian Research Council.
