Who was John Fishwick?
John Palmer Fishwick was an American railroad executive and chief executive of Norfolk and Western Railway.
Fishwick graduated from Roanoke College, and Harvard Law School. After completing law school he worked as an associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore before joining the Navy in 1942. After World War II he joined Norfolk and Western in 1945 and worked as general counsel.
He served as the chief executive of Norfolk and Western from 1970 to 1981 afterwards becoming a partner with Windels Marx Lane and Mittendorf until his retirement in 1986.
