Who is John Pendlebury?
John Pendlebury is a professional rugby league footballer of the 1980s and '90s playing at club level for Wigan, Salford, Halifax, Bradford Northern,and Leigh, as a Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 13.
Pendlebury played in Wigan's 6-19 defeat by Widnes in the 1983–84 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 5 May 1984, and played Loose forward/Lock scored a drop goal, and made a last-gasp tackle on Mark Elia in Halifax's 19-18 victory over St. Helens in the 1986–87 Challenge Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 2 May 1987.
Pendlebury played Loose forward/Lock in Wigan's 15-4 victory over Leeds in the 1982–83 John Player Trophy final at Elland Road, Leeds on Saturday 22 January 1983.
In 1997 Pendlebury coached Halifax Blue Sox for the Super League II season.
