Who was John Stuart?
Colonel John Stuart was a Revolutionary War commander and pioneering western Virginia settler. A veteran of the Battle of Point Pleasant, he surveyed and settled the Greenbrier Valley and is known locally as the “Father of Greenbrier County”.
