Who is Jonathan Evans?
Jonathan Evans is a rugby union player for Newport RFC and the Newport Gwent Dragons regional team. Started his rugby at Bargoed RFC coming through the ranks from Under 12's to youth team. Played for the first team at Bargoed just after turning 17, before moving to premiership side Pontypool RFC. He joined Newport RFC in May 2010 and subsequently Bedwas RFC.
A scrum half, Evans is a graduate of the Newport Gwent Dragons Academy. He became the youngest player to represent the Newport Gwent Dragons when he made his debut aged 17 as a second half replacement against the Ospreys on 7 May 2010.
In April 2012 he was named in the Wales Under-20 squad for the Junior World Cup in South Africa.
In January 2013 he signed a two year deal with Newport Gwent Dragons.
