Who is Joseph Hackmey?

Joseph D. Hackmey is an Israeli businessman, insurance company executive, actuary, investor, and an art and stamp collector.

Art News listed Hackmey as one of the fifty biggest art collectors in the world. He has formed one of the most important collections of Modern art 1869 – 1998, and the largest collection known of Israeli art. His philatelic collections of postage stamps and postal history have obtained several first prizes and Grand Prix at international exhibitions.

Hackmey is currently on the Board of Governors of the Weizmann Institute of Science, Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University, the Israel Museum, and the Tel Aviv Museum of Art.
