Joseph Moore, born on January 9, 1732 in Woodbridge, Middlesex, New Jersey, died on October 7, 1793 in Amwell, Hunterdon Co., N. J., was notable as a Quaker peace negotiator sent to the talks between Native leaders of the Western Confederacy and American government representatives at Sandusky, Ohio, in 1793. The issue was whether or not American settlers would be allowed to settle west of the Ohio River.
