Former Prime Minister of Portugal, 2nd Duke of Lafões, 4.th Marquês de Arronches, and 8th Conde de Miranda do Corvo. He was exiled from Portugal for 17 years from 1761 to 1779, when, after Marquês de Pombal fell from power, he was able to take political initiative.
