Who is Luis Rivera?

Luis Alberto Rivera Morales is a Mexican long jumper. His personal best is 8.46 metres, achieved in July 2013.

He attended Central Arizona College where he learn English. Then, after finishing his General Studies Degrees, he attended the University of Arizona where he got all-American in the long jump. He finished his Bachelor in Science in Industrial Engineering.

Currently, he is studying his PhD in Systems and Industrial Engineering.

In 2013, Luis Rivera competed at the World University Games held in Kazan, Russia, where he earned a first place with a jump of 8.46 meters good. That gave the university jump world record ever made.

After, in the World Championships in Moscow, Russia, he competed in long jump, where he achieved a good jump that put him on the podium with a jump of 8.27 meters good. Earlier in the world Universiade in Kazan, Rivera competed with Aleksandr Menkov, where he overcame, sending him second place, four feet apart, while at the world championships in Moscow, Menkov overcame Rivera, achieving a jump of 8.56 meters, beating Rivera by 29 feet.

His brother, Edgar Rivera, compete in the high jump. He has participated in various international competitions, which include the World Universiade in Shenzen, China, Kazan, Russia. He also managed to participate in world championships, as Daegu, Korea, held in 2011, Moscow, Russia, concluded in 2013
