Who is Michael Day?

Michael Day is a trial attorney in Boston, Massachusetts. He currently practices in the litigation section at the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C..

In 2010, Day was a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the Massachusetts State Senate seat representing the Middlesex-Essex District, which included the cities and towns of Lynnfield, Malden, Melrose, Stoneham, Reading and Wakefield. Day initially announced his intention to seek the seat in 2009 and appeared to be the only candidate who would challenge the long-time incumbent and State Senate Minority Leader, Richard Tisei. In November, however, Tisei announced that he would vacate the seat and campaign for the position of Lieutenant Governor as a member of the Republican ticket headed by Charlie Baker. By January, two other candidates had emerged in the race: Katherine Clark, a Democratic State Representative from Melrose, and Craig Spadafora, a City Councilor from Malden. Clark eventually defeated Day in the primary, and went on to win the general election.
