Who was Miriam Schmierer?
Miriam Schmierer was an Australian supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Australia, she is also the oldest person from the state of Queensland. She assumed the title when John Campbell Ross died on 3 June 2009. She was the last-known surviving Australian born before the founding of the Commonwealth of Australia in 1901.
