Who is Morris Ertman?
Morris Ertman is a Canadian playwright, scenic designer, artistic director, and theatre director. He is a Baptist. He is the artistic director of Rosebud Theatre. He had previously been the director of the Edmonton-based Vineyard Theatre, a Christian theatre company. While Vineyard Theatre's director, Ertman stated that most of the people in his audiences were church-goers. He wrote the musical Tent Meeting with Ron Reed. He also wrote a theatrical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett's The Secret Garden and set it in Alberta. He designed the set for the Canadian Opera Company's 1997 production of Hector Berlioz's Béatrice et Bénédict. In 2007, he directed the Midnight Theatre Collective's production of a theatrical adaptation of The Quarrel. Also in 2007, he directed the Pacific Theatre Company's production of a theatrical adaptation of It's a Wonderful Life.
