'Mubarak Shah is a Pakistani former long-distance runner. who was introduced to the sport while serving in Pakistan Army,He had won three Gold Medal,s and one Silver Medal,s in 1958 & 1962 Asian Games. He was the only Pakistani athlete to win 2 individual athletics gold medal,s 3000 m steeplechase & 5000 m Race at 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.Mubarak shah finest athlete Pakistan has ever produced.He competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics. Early Life Mubarak Shah was born on 24 June 1930 at Mainwali Pakistan.Mubarak Shah Joined Pakistan Army as rank of sepoy.to Hon Capt.He was brave Army soldier laid a solid foundation for the country’s sports and will always be remembered for their dedication and commitment. of course, lucky to have a great personality ever. International career Mubarak Shah represented Pakistan in the 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo, Japan and 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. 1958 Asian Games in Tokyo, Japan Mubarak Shah won Gold medal in 3000 m steeplechase race with a time of 9:03.0,and A Silver medal in 10000 m race with a time of 30:49.8.In the fourth Asian Games at Jakarta in 1962,Hon Capt. Mubarak Shah stole the show becoming first Pakistani to win two golds in Asian Games in 3000m steeplechase with a time of 8:57.8, and 5000m with a time of 14:27.2.Both was the new Asian Records. He competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome,Italy. 5,000 metres race Heat 4; 15:43.0. Later life Mubarak Shah had been promoted from the rank of sepoy to Hon Capt in recognition of his successes in the 1958 & 1962 Asian Games.Mubarak Shah Awarded Pride of Performance in 1963 By Field Marshal General Ayub Khan highest civilian honour, in recognition of his sporting achievements. Mubarak Shah Died friday 19 January 2001, at CMH Rawalpindi.He had 5 sons, '3 Daughter,s.
