Who was Muhammad Kenyatta?
Muhammad I. Kenyatta, born Donald Brooks Jackson, was an African-American professor, civil rights leader and politician.
In the 1960s, he worked for the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, which sought to include black participation in politics.
Kenyatta ran for the mayorship of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1975.
