Who was Murdo Scribe?
Murdo Scribe, was a Swampy Cree educator from Norway House, Manitoba. He recorded his stories and some of the legends which had been passed to him. His award-winning children’s picture book, Murdo's Story, is available in Cree, Ojibwe, and English.
In 1985, Murdo's Story was honoured by the Canada Council with a Governor-General's Award for Children's Literature.
