Who was Mykola Samokysh?
Mykola Samokysh or Nikolai Samokish Russian: Самокиш Николай Семёнович; 13 October 1860, Nizhyn, Ukraine — 18 January 1944, Simferopol, Crimea was a Ukrainian artist of the war art genre who worked in Russian Empire and the USSR. In 1913 he became a member of Imperial Academy of Arts. In 1941 Samokysh was awarded the Stalin Prize.
