Die 1802 gegründete Druckerei von J. Chr. Weber in Leipzig gelangte 1824 durch Verkauf an Carl Gustav Naumann (gest. 1862). 1869 wurde das Geschäft von E. Th. Naumann und Const. G. Naumann übernommen, unter denen das Unternehmen eine ständige Ausdehnung erfuhr. Bekannt wurde die Firma als Verlegerin der Werke Friedrich Nietzsches.
