Who is Nick Hornby?

Nick Hornby is a British artist. He received his education at the Slade School of Art, University College London and Chelsea School of Art. He has been described by ES Magazine as “The New Gormley” and picked for the Evening Standard “Who to Watch in 2010”. He has exhibited his work in the UK, the US, Greece, and India, including Tate Britain, Southbank Centre, Eyebeam Art and Technology Center, The Hub.

In 2009 he was shortlised for the inaugural £45,000 Spitalfields Sculpture Prize proposing "a large scale, multi-faceted sculpture that merges six different aspects of Spitalfields – from its famous Christ Church to the profile of the Spitalfields Woman on display at the British Museum [...] a consistently changing 3-D piece into which visitors can read different images as they circle it."

In 2008 he won the Clifford Chance Sculpture Award, open to postgraduate students of the University of the Arts London. He was then included in Anticipation a showcase of emerging artists curated by Kay Saatchi in Selfridges, for his lifesize sculptural slice of a Boeing 727 and picked as Time Out "London's rising talent" for his floating pink castle in Camley Street Natural Park.
