Who is Peggy McDowell Curlin?

Peggy McDowell Curlin an international leader in family planning, women's health and community development.

From 1978 until 2003, Curlin worked for and eventually became president of Centre for Development and Population Activities, a non-governmental agency that provides leadership and management training to women involved in reproductive health through partnerships with over 100 organizations in 40 countries. Prior to joining CEDPA, in 1974 Curlin co-founded Concerned Women, a women’s health and family planning organization in Bangladesh that began by distributing contraceptives to poor women in Dhaka. Curlin was a recognized leader in women's health, serving on the U.S. delegation to the International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo in 1994 and other international policy forums.
