Who is Per Nilsson?

Per Nilsson is a Swedish guitarist and keyboardist. He is best known as one of the founding members of the melodic death metal/Progressive metal band Scar Symmetry. He is also the guitarist for the Swedish progressive rock group Kaipa and joined the American melodic death metal band The Absence as a permanent member in January 2013, having earlier contributed a guest solo for their 2007 album Riders of the Plague. That same month, Guitar Messenger released a guitar instructional DVD with Per called Scar Guitar. Until 2013 he was endorsed by and exclusively used Ibanez guitars. He is now endorsed by Strandberg Guitars, who in collaboration with him has created the "Singularity", his first signature guitar. He primarily plays extended range guitars, but uses an Ibanez JEM 6 string to record his solos.
