Who is Peter Adeniyi?

Professor Peter O. Adeniyi, Officer of the Order of Niger is a distinguished Nigerian academician and administrator. In 1984 he was the winner of the John I. Davidson Award donated by the International Geographic Information Foundation.

He is a winner of the 2005 Nigeria National Honours Award. Adeniyi is a former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure and he is currently the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University of Ado Ekiti, Nigeria.

Adeniyi was First and Past President of the African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment. He is a member of the Global Ocean Observing Committee

Prof. Peter Adeniyi alongside Prof. Peter Okebukola, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe and Mrs Esther Bolu-Ashafa were described by the Governor of Ekiti State, Engr. Segun Oni as "exceptional talents" that could help sustain the legacy of University education in Ekiti State in order for the state to "achieve exceptional results".
