Who was Peter Ellis?
Peter Ellis was a British director who helped develop a number of television episodes. He began his career directing episodes for various dramatic television series in England. In the late 1980s he moved to Hollywood, California, where he was based for the rest of his life. Working on productions in the United States, Canada, France, New Zealand, and Spain, he directed multiple episodes for Highlander, Supernatural, Third Watch, Queen of Swords, Diagnosis Murder, Falcon Crest, and The Optimist, among others. He also wrote six episodes for The Optimist. The season two episode of Supernatural titled "Everybody Loves a Clown" is dedicated to Ellis's memory.
He was the brother of actors Robin Ellis and Jack Ellis.
