Who is Peter S. Lu?

Peter S. Lu founded Arbor Vita in 1998 to apply discoveries of the role of PDZ proteins to the development of novel therapeutics and diagnostics. Previously, he held various positions at Stanford University School of Medicine. As a resident, Dr. Lu was honored with a Distinguished Teaching Award. As Clinical Instructor in Dermatology, he directed the Psoriasis Treatment Center. Simultaneously, he founded and directed the Stanford Papua New Guinea Medical Project, leading teams of physicians and students on medical relief efforts in the jungles of Papua New Guinea.

Dr. Lu holds both an M.D. with honors and an M.S. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Washington School of Medicine and a B.S. in Biology from the California Institute of Technology. A board-certified dermatologist, he trained at Stanford University School of Medicine and received postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Dr. Mark M. Davis, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Stanford University. Dr. Lu is an inventor on nine granted patents and numerous patent applications and has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications.
