Who is Pietrangelo Pettenò?
Pietrangelo Pettenò is an Italian politician from Veneto.
A member of the Italian Communist Party since the 1980s, in 1991 Pettenò opposed the evolution of the party into the Democratic Party of the Left and was instead a founding member of the Communist Refoundation Party. As such he was three times elected to the Regional Council of Veneto in 2000, 2005 and 2010.
As regional councillor, Pettenò has made his name also for being a Venetist and a strong autonomist. Occasionally he has supported Venetian independence.
