Who is Princess Estelle, Duchess of Östergötland?

Princess Estelle of Sweden, Duchess of Östergötland (Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary; born 23 February 2012) is the first child and daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, Duke of Västergötland. Born at 04:26 CET on 23 February 2012, she measured 51 cm and weighed 3280 grams. The names of the princess were announced on 24 February 2012 by her maternal grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Estelle was originally a French name. There is media speculation that the princess may have been named for Estelle Bernadotte (the widow of count Folke Bernadotte).

Princess Estelle is second in the line of succession to the Swedish throne to become queen and also holds a distant place in the line of succession to the British throne after her mother, as a descendant of Sophia of Hanover.The princess joins several European princesses who are expected to become monarchs: Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway, Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, Infanta Leonor of Spain and Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands.

She is the first female in the history of Sweden to be born to a female heir apparent.
