Who is RJ Khan?

Raju Ali Khan (born: December 10, 1999), better known by his stage name RJ Khan is an Indian rapper and singer. He is best known for his viral songs, like Mai Hoon Jiyan and Sun Meri Shizuka on YouTube.

RJ was born on December 10, 1999 according to English calendar and on 1st of Ramzan according to Islamic calendar. His hometown is Varanasi and from his grandparents, his family used to live there.

Initially Khan's parents named him Farhad Ali and used to call him by the name of 'Roza' as he was born in the holy month of Ramzan. He belonged to a middle-class family and his parents were uneducated. RJ mentioned about these incidents on his social media.

RJ had persued bachelor's degree in Arts from Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth. Interestingly, Khan was from Science stream till his 12th standard. He cleared his intermediate and matriculation from RS Convent Sainik School & Hostel. Also, his first stage performance was from the same place during his farewell.

His primary education was done from Happy Model School. Pictures of RJ's marksheet tell that he used to study in Kids Gurukul and his local institution Saurabh Bal Niketan during his kindle garden period.

RJ had a hobby of singing since his childhood but he never paid too much attention to it. Instead, he wanted to be a professional kick-boxer. He shares many images of awards which he won in the sport of boxing on internet. He also wanted to play for Indian Cricket Team. He played the game at district level and won it, yet did not get the opportunity to play on state level.

It was the time that he studied in 10th standard, when his passion started shifting towards music. At that time, he used to listen the songs of Indian Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh and started being influenced by his style. RJ started writing his own songs and sang it to his friends. He got both positives and negatives about his songs. Later, when he came to know about EminemMusic, he entered the field of hip-hop. Artists like Badshah, Ikka, DIVINE and Raftaar influenced him too. All in all, RJ decided that he should be a musician.

Since then, Khan started working on music. He could not afford high financial expenses. So, he decided to do everything on his own and just on his smartphone. Without even attending any musical class and seeking any knowledge of musical theory, RJ learnt music production from YouTube and his own experiences.

In 2016, RJ Khan created his own YouTube channel by the name of 'Romeo RJ Rapper.' Though, he was not active at that time but he posted two of his musical works which have now been removed from his channel. Finally, on August 15, 2017, he uploaded his first ever song on the channel. It was a rap cover of famous Hindi song Phir Bhi Tumko Chaahunga. The video lacked quality but the way RJ wrote his rap, was praised by people. Later, the video was taken down due to copyright violations.

Since then, Khan became active on YouTube and social media. He posted many of his covers and official releases on the platform. His tribute rap for Pulwama Attack martyrs was praised a lot.

In 2019, his song "Mai Hoon Jiyan" crossed 100K views on YouTube. The song was about the character of Gian from the Japanese anime series Doraemon. The song went so successful that people started making memes over it. The video is still the most viewed video on the channel.

Later, RJ created another song for the same series but this time for a different character, Nobita. The song was named "Sun Meri Shizuka" and it was on the courtship relation between Nobita and Shizuka.
