Who was Robert E. Minahan?
Robert E. Minahan was Mayor of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Minahan was born on January 27, 1858 in Howard, New York to Irish immigrants. He moved with his family to Calumet County, Wisconsin in 1860. Minahan graduated from the Oshkosh Normal School, Rush Medical College and the University of Michigan Law School. He later practiced both medicine and law in Kewaunee, Wisconsin before moving to Green Bay in 1898. They had one son. Minahan died in 1935. Minahan's brother, Victor, was editor of the Green Bay Press-Gazette and the Appleton Post-Crescent. Another brother, John, was honored by St. Norbert College when it named its football team's stadium after him. Minahan married Nellie Mulcahy.
