Who is S.T.Janetius?

S.T.Janetius (born Servasious Thomas Janetius; 19 February 1964) is an Indian Psychologist, Researcher and Educationalist who graduated from De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines.

Born in the southern end of India in a Christian family, he started his life with a strong affiliation to religion and philosophy. Later he realized his call to psychology and is fully involved is in the field of Psychology and Education in the last two decades.

His doctoral research among the indigenous Cordillera people in the Philippines created a strong desire in him to become an exponent of culture-specific psychology and an ardent promoter of indigenous knowledge.

He has written more than 10 books on various topics in social sciences. Psychology, Religion and Education are his common interest of research clubbed with Culture.

Delusive Healers of India is one of his recent books i n which he identifies a group of healers in South India as delusive healers who delude the clients to heal them.

He has also used the term Pneumasomatic sickness for the first time to identify some sickness among Cordillera people in the Philippines.

His concepts on religion and Bible are depicted in his book Altering the Altar and his ecumenical views are seen in his book on Visions in Mahabharata and Bible.

His love for culture is seen in his book on Ethiopia (Abyssinia in the New Millennium).

Besides working in India, he has worked in the Philippines as a Senior Lecturer in the College of St.Benilde, DLSU and in the University of Gondar Ethiopia as an Assistant Professor. He has also visited Australia for a summer internship.

He is also a musician who can play few stringed and wind instruments. As a musician he has composed and published a music album in 1999.
