Who is Samira Guccione?
Samira Guccione was appointed assistant professor (research) of radiology in Aug, 2005. Her research focuses on the development of imaging and therapeutic agents targeting the vasculature. One of the things being studied in Guccione's lab is the relationship of stem cells with endothelium in pathologic or inflamed tissue. She is also working on projects involving drug and gene delivery, radiation sensitizers and the use of ultrasound for imaging and delivery of therapeutics.
