Who is Sheikh Khalifa Ezzat?
Khalifa Ezzat is the chief Imam and head of religious affairs at the Islamic Cultural Centre and London Central Mosque. He was born in Egypt and memorised the Qur'an at an early age. He graduated from Al-Azhar University. He has worked as Imam and translator in Egypt for nearly five years. In 2005, he was appointed by the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf to be Imam at London's Central Mosque. He studied MA in Islamic studies in the School of Oriental and African Studies SOAS, London University. He is now PhD researcher. He has translated about twenty books about Islam into English, published in Cairo and London.
