Shin Bo-Me
Noble person
Who is Shin Bo-Me?
Shin Bo-Me was queen to five consecutive kings of Ava. The ethnic Shan queen was considered a great beauty. She was the favorite and chief queen of Minkhaung I. She became the chief queen in 1407. She was also the favorite queen of Thihathu until Shin Sawbu became queen in 1424. In August 1425, Bo-Me engineered the death of Thihathu. She "married" the successor, 7-year-old Minhlange. Three months later, she poisoned the boy king and put her lover Kale Kyetaungnyo on the Ava throne, and again became the chief queen. In May 1426, Kyetaungnyo was overthrown by Mohnyin Thado, who subsequently made Bo-Me a junior queen.
