Sidney Toledano

Who is Sidney Toledano?

Sidney Toledano, born in Casablanca in 1951, is an engineering graduate of the Ecole Centrale of Paris. He also holds a Master's degree in Mathematics.

After a stint as a Marketing Consultant at Nielsen International, Toledano joined Kickers as General Secretary in 1982. He continued his carrier at Lancel,where he was appointed Managing Director in 1984. He supervised product development and greatly increased Lancel's sales.

In March 1994, Toledano joined the Christian Dior Couture Fashion House as Director of the Leather Goods Division. He brought worldwide success to the brand with the launch of the "Lady Dior" bag in 1995. Toledano was promoted to Managing Director in charge of internationaldevelopment in January 1996.

As President and Chief Executive Officer of Christian Dior Couture, a position he was appointed to in 1998, he continued to develop the group and put Christian Dior Couture among the most famous fashion houses in the luxury sector. He works in very close collaboration with John Galliano, the Artistic Director of Haute Couture, Women Ready-to-Wear and Accessories on the collections to develop the lines and products.

Toledano also participates in selecting and nominating designers such as Victoire de Castellane, designer of Christian Dior's fine jewelry in 1998, and Hedi Slimane,then Kris Van Assche, Artistic Directors of Dior Homme.

He is particularly committed to the international expansion of the network of boutiques which has grown from six in 1994 to the current 214 of today. In addition to his role at Christian Dior Couture, Toledano is also President of the company John Galliano, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fendi International S.A.,President of Fendi France, as well as Chief Executive Officer and Director of the holding company Christian Dior S.A.
