Who is Simone Biles?

Simone Arianne Biles (born March 14, 1997) is an American gymnast. Biles has won 32 Olympic and world medals to date, making her the most decorated gymnast of all time. With seven Olympic medals, Biles also ties Shannon Miller for most medals won by an American gymnast. She is considered one of the greatest and most dominant gymnasts of all time.

Biles won individual gold medals in all-around, vault, and floor at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio; bronze on the balance beam; and gold as part of the United States' "Final five." After battling "the Twisties," a temporary loss of consciousness caused by "loss of air awareness," she won silver with Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Her focus on safety, mental health, and persistence were applauded. Biles has also won five world titles in all aspects of the sport (2013-2015, 2018-2019), five world titles in floor exercise (2013-2015, 2018-2019), and three world titles in the beam (2014-2015). , 2019), two-time world champion on vault (2018-2019), seven-time United States full national champion (2013-2016, 2018-2019, 2021), and member of the gold medal-winning teams of USA in the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019. In addition, it is three times world champion (2013 and 2014 in the vault, 2018 in uneven bars) and three times third world (2015 in vault 2013 and 2018 on the uneven bars).
