Who is Stellan Windrow?
A collegiate athlete who was initially hired to play Tarzan of the Apes and shown in the trademarks shots of Tarzan swinging from vine to vine. After filming began however, he was called to join the Navy during World War I which broke out during the middle of filming the movie in Louisiana. The role of Tarzan was left without a lead man and was quickly filled in by actor Elmo Lincoln.
