Who is Syed Qutub Ali Shah?
Syed Qutub Ali Shah Jahania was a Sufi saint of Hyderabad, Sindh. He was born in 1805 AD/1229 AH and was among the descendants of Jahaniyan Jahangasht and Jalaluddin Surkh-Posh Bukhari. His family belongs to a prominent lineage of Naqvi settled at Uch Sharif and Jahanian. His ancestors came from Uch Sharif and settled in Sindh. His father Syed Fateh Din Shah came at Hyderabad, Sindh and built a town Tando Jahania where descendants of this family still reside. He was a Sufi master and a great poet. He died on 16th Dhulhaj 1328 AH/ 22 December 1910, Shrine at Tando Jahania, Hyderabad. Following are some lines taken from his Sindhi poem in praise of Imam Ali;
"Ya Peer Mola Murtaza, he ta Ghulam tuhenjo"
"Mushkil Kushai Keriyo, Molaa Inaam tuhenjo..... "
