Who is Tariq Tafu?

Tariq Tafu is a Punjabi singer from Pakistan. Born in Lahore, Tafu hails from a family of reputed musicians. His father is a renowned tabla artist Altaf Hussain Tafu. He started playing music when he was as young as seven years of age. Tariq Tafu was playing as drummer with renowned Pakistani singer Abrar ul Haq for more than 15 years. Eight years ago, he come across a poet who is also a struggler "Khadim Hussain" who wrote and sang the song Lahore Lahore Ey. He asked Tariq help for the music and Tariq made is a joint venture, and took all the credit. The song was a mega hit because Abrar's was Pakistan's superstar so wherever he was performing, tariq was also performing before him. Tafu has performed acts with a number of musicians, including the late singer and actress Noor Jehan. Apart from playing the drum, guitar and piano, he has mastery over the tabla and dholak musical instruments.

Other than singing in his native language, Tariq Tafu has recorded many songs in the Urdu language as well.
