Theodor Opitz was a German journalist from Silesia, which emerged through studies of the history of the French Revolution, in the 1848 revolution was active in Germany and after the Polish January Uprising in 1863 fled to Switzerland for political reasons from Silesia, where he worked as a journalist and translator.
