Who is Tom Jenkins?
Tom Jenkins was Britain's first black school teacher. He was a farmhand brought from Upper Guinea, who later spent a brief period studying at the University of Edinburgh. He later travelled to London where he trained and worked as a teacher at the British and Foreign School Society.
