Who was Tony Hart?

Tony Hart was an American actor, comedian and singer.

He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, and is best known for working with Ned Harrigan, in the late 19th century. Together they became a fixture at the Theatre Comique in New York City by the mid-1870s. They began their team in Chicago, then had their big break at Boston's Howard Athenaeum. Later in the decade, Hart and Harrigan began moving from the variety show toward musical theater, and became the first major Americans to use ethnicity as a major component of character development.

He died in Worcester, Massachusetts from complications of paresis and advanced syphilis.
