Who is Tracie L McGovern?

Tracie L McGovern, (born 21st April 1978) is a retired Australian Women's Footballer (Soccer Player). Tracie started her footballing career in 1983 in a small town on the Mid North Coast of NSW called Wauchope, Australia. She was the first female to play football in the region at that time. Tracie went on to represent North Coast and NSW Schoolgirls from 1991 to 1994. She was selected into the Australian Schoolgirls in 1993 but unfortunatley was unable to tour to New Zealand after suffering a broken right ankle which required surgery. A womens local competition was started in 1993 where Tracie was introduced to the Northern NSW Soccer Federation and went on to be a star player for the Northern Pride (now known as the Newcastle Jets in the Australina Women's National League. Tracie captained the Junior and Youth Matildas and in 1997 made her debut into the Australian National team against China in Lismore as a 19 year old. In 1998 Tracie moved to Canberra to train with the Olympic Train On Squad in preperation for the Sydeny 2000 Olympics. In early 2000 Tracie went into retirement after an injury to her left ankle. After a forced break from sport, Tracie returned in 2009 as a Triathlete. She went on to compete in sprint distance Tri's, Olympic distance Tri's and Half Ironmans Tri's. In 2014 Tracie became involved in the Calisthenics Movement as a Fitness Trainer and combined her knowledge and experience in the sporting industry with her new job as a mother to produce easy to follow Calisthenics Circuit training for all types of communities, especially new mothers looking to get back into shape and miners on FIFO rosters.
