Vatal Nagaraj
Politician, Person
Who is Vatal Nagaraj?
Vatal Nagarajವಾಟಾಳ್ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ is a politician from Karnataka, India. Named after the village he was born in, he is the Ex MLA of Chamarajnagar. Nagaraj is the president of 'Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha'.
He is singularly credited with keeping Kannada language and Kannada spirit alive in Bangaluru despite the onslaught of migration from other states and other languages.
While his intent seems genuine, his measures are criticized as extreme and fueling enmity within, otherwise, peaceful communities. His inflammatory speeches and actions demonize democracy, and raise questions why such people are not brought under the law. He frequently rails against the continuous and incessant migration of outsiders who do not assimilate into the culture or language and instead create small pockets of slums and voting strongholds.
Nagaraj is known for his active stance in protecting the Kannada language and Kannada culture, and for voicing protests against the Government of India on a number of issues.
