Who is Volker Halbach?

Volker Halbach is a German logician and philosopher who is currently a fellow of New College, Oxford. He is the author of several articles and books including the Logic Manual, a textbook on undergraduate logic and different works on the axiomatic motivation of truth. He was educated at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitaet of Munich and the University of Florence before becoming a professor of philosophy at the University of Konstanz. He has been at New College since 2004. His main research foci relate to the axiomatic theories of truth and various theories of logic. His work also covers the philosophy of language, epistemology, and philosophy of mathematics.
