Who is Vsevolod Balitsky?
Vsevolod Apollonovich Balitsky was a top official of the NKVD.
Balitsky was born in Verkhnodniprovsk Yekaterinoslav Governorate. On 11 May 1937, he was transferred to the Far East, becoming Commander of the NKVD. During the Great Purge he was arrested. Later, he was sentenced to death and shot the same day in Moscow, then buried at Kommunarka.
